May Distance Learning Activities for Children

Have you been searching for some May distance learning activities for your students or children?  Since many schools have decided to keep children at home for safety reasons, many teachers and parents are looking for some fun activities for them to do.  

Take a moment and see if any of these May distance learning activities will work for you and your children. 

Activity 1: Reading

There is nothing like great literature to open your kids minds and hearts.  Children love to be read to and need to practice themselves.   Try some of these reading activities with your children.

  • Use May books with repetition & rhymes
  • Act out a good poem
  • Develop a May theme for activities (spring, butterflies, bugs, flowers, baseball, soccer or camping)
  • Create a world of words: label things around the house

Activity 3: Math

Math is all around us and is an easy subject to teach. It is important to have children use hands on materials while practicing their math skills.  Try some of these May distance learning activities.

  • Practice counting forward and backwards with movement
  • Get outside count the flowers, trees, bugs create math problems
  • Use play objects to make up math problems, write them out
  • Try a digital resource to practice math skills

Movement is so important for kids, especially if they are stuck inside.  They may just need a brain break when changing activities during the day.  Here are some activities to get kids moving!
