Welcome, I'm Maureen

Glad you stopped by!  Let me tell you a little bit about myself. 

First, let me introduce myself. I am Maureen Monroe,  a  retired elementary teacher with 32 years of service.  

One of my greatest joys are my three beautiful granchildren!  I love chocolate chip cookies and the color yellow. 

Since retiring, I found that there was a great need to have an outlet for my creativity, thus I became a business owner of  The Teaching Scene by Maureen.  

With my years of teaching, and having a Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary and Special Education, with a Masters in Special EducationI felt like I still  had something to offer and wanted to share and help other educators.

The privilege was all mine to teach Kindergarten, First Grade and Special Education.   Being in education, I think there are times that you learn more from your students then they learn from you.   

Next, becoming a teacher coach and mentorto new teachers and helping them to developement their curriculum, classroom environment and data collection was a rewarding experience. 

Driven by the love of creating, my store has allowed me to continue to help teachers and educators, now reaching around the world.  

All  children can learn, so I incorporate a themed-based multisensory approach to learning that focuses on cross-curricular activities.

 The resources created have an  emphasis on the literarcy and mathematics curricular areas. 

Finally, as I begin this new chapter in my life, I look forward to helping you by sharing some of the tips and tricks I have learned along the way.
